How to Change the Nickname of Your Twilio Number in WizCaller

This tutorial will guide you through the steps to change the nickname of your Twilio number within WizCaller. The nickname helps you identify and manage your Twilio numbers more easily, and changes will be reflected both in WizCaller and your Twilio account.

Prerequisites

  • An active Twilio account.
  • An active WizCaller account.
  • Your Twilio number must be Linked and Active with WizCaller. (For instructions on linking and activating your Twilio number, see: Linking Twilio Number)

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Access Twilio Number Settings:

  • Log in to your WizCaller account.
  • Click on the Settings menu in the top-right corner of the screen.
  • Select Twilio Number Settings from the dropdown.

2. Find and Select Your Twilio Number:

  • Browse through your list of Twilio numbers.
  • Ensure that the Twilio number you wish to modify is Linked and Active.
  • Click on the Twilio number to open its settings page.

3. Edit the Nickname:

  • On the settings page, find the Twilio Number Nickname section (as shown in the first image).
  • Click on the Edit button to modify the nickname (as shown in the second image).

4. Change the Nickname:

  • In the editable field labeled New Nickname, enter your desired nickname for the Twilio number.

5. Save the Changes:

  • Click Save to apply the new nickname. Once saved, the nickname will be updated in both WizCaller and your Twilio account.
  • If you wish to cancel the change, click Cancel and the nickname will remain unchanged.

6. Where the Nickname Change Will Be Reflected in WizCaller:

  • The new nickname will appear in the following areas within WizCaller:
    • Call Log page
    • Dialer page (where you make calls)
    • Messaging pages
    • Twilio Number Settings page
  • Note: The nickname will not be shown in the Activity Log Link portal for privacy reasons.

Common Issues and Troubleshooting

Issue 1: Changes Not Saving Correctly

  • Solution: Ensure that you have an active internet connection and that you are logged in to your WizCaller account. If the nickname is not updated after clicking Save, try refreshing the page and check if the change has been reflected.

Issue 2: Nickname Not Updated in Twilio Account

  • Solution: If the nickname update is not reflected in your Twilio account immediately, wait a few minutes for the change to sync. If the issue persists, verify that the Twilio number is correctly linked and active in WizCaller.

  • A: Yes, any nickname change made in WizCaller is automatically updated in your Twilio account as well.
